Double Pendle and Stang Top Moor

A murky start that was forecast to break into a nice day and so it did with short sleeves back! First visit to Stang Top Moor.

A murky start - the forecast was for improvement though

Foggy on summit, but I'm coming back here later and that bit of sun above suggests improvement could be on the way

Descending the zig zags to Barley

There's Stang Top Moor - where I'm heading next

Entering Aitken Wood and the Sculpture Trail - there was a sign here saying the sculpture trail was closed but having come this far I decided to at least head to the top of he hill

Pendle is clearing now as I look over from the top of Stang Top Moor

One of the sculptures - there's more to see here and I will come back but as I was wary today, I quickly bolted back the way I came

Aitken Wood has made the slopes of this hill nice

Descent to Black Moss Reservoirs through the woods

There's Pendle Hill again - looks good for when I get back there

Heading into Ogden Clough - glorious now

And then up via Boar Clough - the one way I hadn't been up Pendle and certainly one of the quietest

Yorkshire Peaks from the summit - t-shirt weather now

Same route down as I first came up - Bowland hills ahead

What a difference an hour or two makes!
