Western Carneddau

A spectacular-looking mountain day with shin-deep snow cloaking the Carneddau plateau. The Aber Falls are very impressive; well worth the two visits they get on this route, even if the steep climb up the valley side to Llwytmor from beyond them is a proper breathless slog. Most of the walking around the high peaks after that - even in these conditions - is pretty gentle and easy though. Bera Mawr on the way back is the star, a very jagged rocky little rise that takes a bit of a scramble to attain.
