After a lovely stay overnight with Malky's aunt near Leeds, we were heading back to Glasgow - Malky suggested driving through the Dales as there was an easy Hewitt he hadn't been up  We parked near the top of Buttertubs and headed off - it did look fairly straight-forward from here!

It's never too chilly for shorts (if you're Malky!)

This walk has the potential to be very boggy, but it was dry underfoot today and there was a path (well, sort of)

With the exception of a short section, the gradient wasn't too bad and I seemed to be managing ok-ish for a change - looking back we could see Great Shunner Fell (apparently this was fairly easy too!)

Soon we could see the summit

It was a pleasant surprise to be not feeling completely awful, so we had a lovely seat on Lovely Seat before heading back down the way we had come.
