Unfortunately I'd missed out on the last leg of the coast walk due to an attack of gout in the middle of the night, and Dr Frank had to walk it alone - and from the pix, it looked like the best stretch so far too
. So I had to make this one, and I did. The forecast for the day was essentially clear sunny skies from about mid-morning, so we were both raring to go.
We met up in Cemaes at around 08.30, leaving my car there and driving back to a layby near City Dulas where we would start this leg.
It was a fairly short leg because there was only about 8 hours of daylight.

The first section was a pretty muddy affair following the well-marked path until we got to the shore of the estuary.

20220111-094107. After a mere half kilometre the official path cuts off left and follows a minor tarmacked road for something over a kilometre before heading back to the coast.
Both of us prefer to avoid tarmac if we can, so we simply carried on along the estuary shore.

This took us through some fields, with the big manor house of the Llys Dulas estate up on the hill above us to the left. No gamekeeper bearing a shotgun emerged.
And shortly afterwards we were back on the coast path.

20220112-WA0013. Easy coastal walking, and we arrived in Porth Amlwch at about 12.30. Where Dr Frank spotted a cafe sign just above the little harbour; and, wonder of wonders, it was open. So we stopped for a plate of chips and a cup of tea, sitting outside on the harbour side and just enjoying the sunshine. Eventually though, we had to bestir our aged bones and start moving again.
