We struggled, elbows in faces. When does the power get switched back on ? ( Maybe the highest but not the poshest hotel) Head torch beams pass about. Strangely enough for the first time hill climbing a butterfly stomach. There was no danger like before climbing on towers of rock or multi day mixed climbing, this was a walk! Two big accidents in the past month seen a bunch of folks die at the col between the summit peaks from the exposed nature of Elbrus in the Caucusaus mountains. Then another accident from slab avalanche up at the rocks killed 4 people. We had nearly a foot of new snow over the past couple of days storms on the hill and when the gales slowed up late the night before a couple jumped out their container and made a snow man to the amusement of us all trying to stare out the tiny port hole window on the top shelf.

Max was at the door!

BTW : This is Sh##e I know but it has a novelty side for me.

Bored now.

Coming soon : /EDITED

So long as we get to the summit before part 10! Your commitment to report writing seems to have gone downhill in the last couple of years

Eh! how can you say that. Its the the highest mountain in our continent. It should be high in the list of to dos for any mountaineer/ suppose walker/ stretching a bit I suppose for those folks that think a round of a hill list is an achievement

Its probably out the park for most munro baggers as it means leaving the boundry of Scotland and there is an element of risk by passing your can of coke bursting and geeing u damp pieces.

Anyway you have given me that push to get on with Part 4

I'll have you know I once spent a night in Carlisle. Well travelled, me!

I'm looking forward to the rest, as compared to say Mont Blanc, you have to dig much further to find out anything about Elbrus (and I'm lazy) 8)

This needs to end : We all made it bar one. Bad weather at first but the clear weather came in on the way down.
Really nice views there was but it was a long, long day. We encountered some Americans in a bad way plus passing the remains of 2 tents some folks got storm bound and died was an eye opener.

Med weather on the lower slopes that day.
