I parked my car in the carpark just below the Neuadd reservior. You walk along a tarmac until you reach a gate. On reaching the gate make your way past what looks like an old pump house and up onto the dam and make your way across. Once across you will come to a gate. Take the path to the right and towards the ridge. As you climb the ridge it gets steeper and you may have to scramble up the last part to reach the top of the ridge.

Looking back down the path.
The walking along Graig fan ddu is easy, with a great view of the upper and lower Neuadd reservoirs and across the valley.

As you continue along the ridge it has a change of name to Graig Gwaun Taf. The great thing about this walk is you can almost see your entire route from start to finish. Continuing on past Corn Du it`s a short climb up to the summit of Pen y Fan. Taking a short break to take in the views of the surrounding area and of Cribyn and Fan y Big.

Desending the path from Pen y Fan you cant help but notice the work been carried out on the path.

It`s a short but steep walk up to the summit of Cribyn. On to Fan y Big, again it`s a short but steep walk up to the summit, more great views, this time of Cribyn and Pen y Fan.

On leaving summit it`s along the Roman road back to the lower reservoir and the carpark.
