At last some settled weather fell on a weekend for a change :D , so off we set for a wildcamp to Snowdonia, and 'Er indoors (Ele, my other half) was keen to come along as well  , but she did not want to do a long high walk, so this small spur of a hill which I had eyed up before as a possible good camping spot seemed to fit the bill.
A good path leads from the road at the west end of Llyn Dinas and heads up hill to some old copper mines, above them is the highest point, but having got there we found no where to pitch the tent, so dropped down slightly to a good spot with some nice flat short grass, near to a a nice high view point to sit in the sun and watch the sunset later, a great spot to drink some wine and beer :D .
We slept well through the night, with not a breath of wind about.
Once the sun hit the tent in the morning, it felt like someone had turned on the heating to full power  .
We were up at 8am and sat in the sun again as we had some breakfast. 30 minutes after packing we were back at the car.
All in all a great little get away into the hills 8) .

Lovely spot - have walked around there lots in the past. Cwm Bychan is a nice little minature valley on the other side. Some of my earliest memories are of climbing the pylons on the old aerial runway down there.

Great weather in Wales this weekend. Was in St Asaph, but at a wedding so didn't get anywhere near the hills.

The Y Garn sunset photo is stunning and the Llyn Dinas ones are beautiful. Have you been on the tour of the slate mine at Sygun? it's quite good

Not been around that, one for a rainy day.
Malkyc, great walk that around Cwm Bychan and Aberglaslyn, done it a few times, as you know our camping spot was at the highest point of Cwm Bychan.
