This was a straight forward out and back ascent of what I thought may be an easy summit.i couldn't be more wrong, It was very difficult terrain all the way with no path in sight after leaving the byway to Stalling Busk.
Yockenthwaite Moor has very little to offer of interest but having said that you do stand a very good chance of having the place to yourself.

Looks quite pleasent on a sunny day. When I did it I went from Stalling Busk on a wet and misty day so never really got a view. I must have been over some pretty grotty moors because I didn't find it too bad when I followed fence although having bagged it as a hewitt I probably won't be back up there for a long time.
Matt on http://www.mypennines.co.uk/ went from Wharfedale and said it's an area full of elephant trap peat groughs.

Agree Yockenthwaite Moor is not much to write home about although it does have views of all the major (and more interesting) hills in the Dales. To make it more interesting, I did a round of the Semer Water valley from Bainbridge taking on board Addleborough and the Roman Road past Drumaldrace.
