Snowdonia. Indian Summer Double Wild-campCamping at Bwlch Ciliau and Llyn yr Ader.
And including walking up Y Llywedd and Cnitch.Wed 28th September. With some of the best weather of the year promised for the next few days (although it was now Autumn!) My gear was soon organised for 2 wildcamps to come in the up-coming few days.
At 1.30pm I set off from Nant Gwynant in glorious hot and sunny weather, it was sweaty work tramping up the Watkin path with my heavy rucksack, but well worth it in this fabulous natural amphitheatre.

Thurs 29thIt remained a clear and star-filled sky overnight, so when I arose at dawn at 6.45am, I was surprised to find some low cloud on the summits of Snowdon and Y Llywedd.
Y Llywedd, DawnY Llywedd, SunriseAfter hanging around for 30 minutes or so taking pictures of the sunrise, I decided instead of walking up Snowdon (as I had planned) to dive back into my sleeping bag for “5 minutes” …..the next thing I knew I woke up at 9.30!
The cloud was still hanging around the summit as I headed down, so a good call.
As I dropped down the valley the sun and heat returned to leave another stunning afternoon.
After popping into Beddgelert for 30 minutes, I drove up the narrow B road from Nant Gwynant to Llwynyrwch, where my next walk would start.
A path of sorts, very boggy in patches, leads up to Llyn Llagi, with some great views back to Snowdon and the mountains to the West.

I reached my new camping spot after around 1hr 30mins, a grassy area by the shore of Llyn yr Ader.
Wild-camping by Llyn yr AdarAfter setting up camp I set off lightweight for a walk up to Cnitch.

I awoke at 6.30am, and was away before the sun rose, retracing my steps down the path back to the valley with great views of the early sun hitting Snowdon and its satellites.
