Wed 28th September.
With some of the best weather of the year promised for the next few days (although it was now Autumn!) My gear was soon organised for 2 wildcamps to come in the up-coming few days.
At 1.30pm I set off from Nant Gwynant in glorious hot and sunny weather, it was sweaty work tramping up the Watkin path with my heavy rucksack, but well worth it in this fabulous natural amphitheatre.

I reached Bwlch Ciliau, the Col between Snowdon and Y Llywedd in just over 2 hours, where I found a nice grassy flat area with great views in all directions.

After my nice Curry meal, I went for a wonder up Y Llywedd to catch the sunset at around 7pm.

By 8pm it was dark, so into the tent for the night, and although it remained mild inside, the wind that funnelled over the Bwlch kept it cool outside.

Thurs 29th
It remained a clear and star-filled sky overnight, so when I arose at dawn at 6.45am, I was surprised to find some low cloud on the summits of Snowdon and Y Llywedd.

After hanging around for 30 minutes or so taking pictures of the sunrise, I decided instead of walking up Snowdon (as I had planned) to dive back into my sleeping bag for “5 minutes” …..the next thing I knew I woke up at 9.30!
The cloud was still hanging around the summit as I headed down, so a good call.
As I dropped down the valley the sun and heat returned to leave another stunning afternoon.
After popping into Beddgelert for 30 minutes, I drove up the narrow B road from Nant Gwynant to Llwynyrwch, where my next walk would start.
A path of sorts, very boggy in patches, leads up to Llyn Llagi, with some great views back to Snowdon and the mountains to the West.

The path then bears east to skirt the cliffs above the lake.
I reached my new camping spot after around 1hr 30mins, a grassy area by the shore of Llyn yr Ader.

After setting up camp I set off lightweight for a walk up to Cnitch.

Once back at the tent, I cooked and eat my meal in the sunshine, then watched the sunset fall behind the hills to the west.

Friday 30th
It again remained completely clear overnight, again vey warm in the tent never falling any lower that 17 degrees!
I awoke at 6.30am, and was away before the sun rose, retracing my steps down the path back to the valley with great views of the early sun hitting Snowdon and its satellites.

All in all 3 great days in the hills, in probably the best weather since April! :D

Great to get a taster in advance of the forthcoming Snowdonia meet.

Nice to get a view of Y Llywedd as I fancy doing this one as part of Snowdon circuit.
Possible route for Snowdonia meet

I have been pondering some other routes too (but am maybe getting a bit ambitious for one weekend)

Thanks to all who have replied :D

Deffo route 1 for the Sat I'd say, unless weather is very bad. (2nd group will be able to do easier ways up/down)
route 3 would be good for those still about on the Sunday, its a big walk to include Elider Fawr as well. (I take it your bagging "Welsh Munros"?)
route 3 good for a pm walk for those arriving on the Friday
route 2 is a very good one, but logistically is probably out of the question on that weekend.

Lovely sunsets/sunrises as usual. Just hope you saved some of that for a fortnight's time
