Started in Coniston not being able to see the top of the Old Man. Made it to the top in good time then made our decent via Low Water, Levers Water & Swirl How. Good weather, was also my 40th birthday! :D

Was it heaving with grannies, lasses in court shoes/stilettos, and boy scouts like Wainwright suggests? :D

Hope you had a good birthday - certainly a great way to spend it!

No but a guy that looked in his 70's ran past up on his way up and down before we had reached the summit, think he might do this every day! Oh and a few dogs overtook us as well.

Could have been the famous Joss Naylor! Did he look thin-as-a-pin? :)

Next time go up from Seathwaite via Walna Scar to Dow Crag then round to the `Old Man' and then down to Seathwaite Tarn and back to your car - Hopefully parked at my favourite Pub in the world `The Newfield' for a pint of Old Pec!! :D

Highly recommended!!

There was nothing of him so probably was.

Thinking of doing either The Great Glen Way or West Highland Way next year, undecided at the moment, did Hadrian's Wall this year, took 9 days and only had one day of rain - again on my birthday!
