Excellent stuff I agree! It's a magnificent area.

But the legendary A.Wainwright didn't count any of the Helvellyn-Fairfield range among his best 6 (Although he did like it there!)

You cross-border raiders, just wait until you get to Bowfell, Pillar, Blencathra, etc. You must at least see Pillar Rock close up, and the crags of Bowfell.

And someday I'll make it to Skye.

My favourite walk of all time in the Lakes is the Fairfield Horseshoe, done it several times, so good to see a view of Fairfield :D
the northern numpies appreciate all the support from our well heeled neighbours :D

£4.50 to park??? It was only two quid, the last time I was there, shows how long ago that was :). Love the side on photos of the final push to the summit after Striding Edge. Top stuff!
