A good stretch over a mixture of ridge, moorland plateau, then boulderfields and rocky outcrops. Good place names, the Druid stone, Madwomans Stones

and many others.
Our route was west up the Great Ridge over Brown Knoll and to Edale Head where we reached Kinder Low's Trig Point as a blowy lunch stop.( why is Kinder Low not on the list? 633m- Kinder Scout -which is on the list of Hewitts-is a mere 3m more). Turn Eastward down the lines of named quaint rock formations,

Rock Formations and Grindsbrook Clough
all the way to Crookstone Hill and back along the Edale Valley

Brings back memories - Rushup Edge, Brown Knoll, Kinder - my first outdoors stomping grounds. I used to go by train.
