Hello everyone, just returned from a glorious week in The Lakes, apart from this walk on the sunday we walked in base layers all week, or at least my husband did  It was raining when we reached the car park opposite the Kirkstone Inn but we waited a little while and by 8.30 it had stopped and we set off over the road and upwards. As we climbed we looked across at the quarry above "The Struggle" road to Ambleside

and also down to the pub

The views were opening up down the pass towards Patterdale and Place Fell was towering to the right.

Down the Kirkstone Pass
Our first target was the Birkett of St. Ravens Edge

It dropped a little from here then we could see our climb to the summit

Towards the summit
On our right was the left hand leg of the Kentmere Circuit

As the clouds came in again we reached the summit of Caudale Moor, Stoney Cove Pike, I can imagine how dangerous this summit is when the weather closes in :(

Mission accomplished we headed back

We knew tomorrow was going to be a lovely day :D

Oh well, if Pillar Rock's one, I sure won't be collecting those!
