Don't worry about the hip still aching, such problems usually take time to recover. It took me six months to get rid of my knee injury and even now sometimes it reminds me of the old accident, especially on steep slopes. I guess it's just a matter of patience.

Thanks BP, I'm glad to be back out there, I'll just have to wait for the hip but patience was never a virtue I possessed

How do you do it Chris??? Your reports just get more and more stunning! Glad to see there were no goat encounters in this one though! My wife doesn't often look at this site, but one day soon I am going to pour her a large glass of red and sit her down at the computer to read every one of your Canadian reports. Then I'm going to bring up the subject of next years summer holiday........ Great to see you back out there doing your thing!

Chris, glad to see you out walking again and hope the hip improves very soon :D
Fantastic photos as ever  Did you get the same camera and lens and, were you able to claim for it under your insurance?

Cheers Graeme, though to be honest it is easy to get shots like these out here....they are round every corner in the Rockies, it is incredibly beautiful and really worth coming to see. Even the whole 'tourist' thing doing Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper is worthwhile, there is a beauty here unseen elsewhere; I think the incredible scale is what sets it apart from other mountainous areas I've seen and of course the glorious weather  If you are really considering it and want any info by all means give me a shout mate....I'll get the welcome mat out :D

Thanks Susie, the hip is just a niggle now, I'm sure it will be fine in a week or two. I thought the insurance would pay out for the camera kit but alas no......I had to bite the cost  I already had a camera body the same as the one I bounced down the mountain but did have to blow a hefty wedge to replace the lens.....I do love that lens though  Apparently hiking up a mountain does not qualify as normal daily use (even though it clearly is for me) lesson learned  At least I'm still here to tell the tale
