Ground was frozen up to the Standards but after that was very wet and boggy, The second field after the farm buildings marked Lockthwaite on the map is very cut up and extremely muddy the farmer has been keeping cows in there and it is almost impassable.

It's a good top for the westerly views. Worth a bit of bogtrotting to get there too. The path from the summit of the Keld road at the county boundary is a pretty decent one up to the last few yards to the top.
