Having some free time I decided to head to the Peak District to climb Bleaklow Hill. The original plan was to complete a 20 mile circular walk from from a book i'd had for years.
On arrival at the Birchin Clough car park on the Snake Pass road (A57) i realised that there would not be enough daylight hours to complete the 20 miler due to heavy snow.
Before heading off i made the decision to just get to the top and head straight back down.

Once in open country i had to navigate to the head of upper north grain then to the Pennine Way.The going was very tough constantly disappearing up to my waist and once altogether through snow that had bridged a stream.
I had Bleaklow all to myself on this crossing so the footprints in the snow marking the Pennine Way were a relief to find. The rest of the walk was so much easier with the Pennine way taking me straight to the cairn and Bleaklow Head.

Some good photos there, you havemanaged to capture the isolation and barran nature of the Peak District inb those shots.

I'm not too sure about dissapearing throughy the snow which covered a stream though; could have been nasty?

Good report though, cheers.
