Hi all im back in the Langdales for the second time in a week last weekend we camped in low clag an a blizzard we only managed to get as far as the 3 tarns due to near waist deep snow in places this Easter weekend in glorious winter conditions i returned to complete the round.I left the old dungeon gill to stool end farm

Great pictures from two magnificent fells, hutchy.

Those "strange snow patterns" look like footprints. The snow beneath people's footsteps becomes compacted and therefore more stable. Then the wind blows away the surrounding, still soft snow, leaving the raised footprints.

Fine wander Hutchy; captured beautifully in those stunning pics, there is little to beat a photo of a snowy landscape with a blue sky above it....great report :clap:

Thanks for posting your report - brought a sense of deja vu to me reading it.
We must have been behind you most of the day or had our pint in the the Dungeon Ghryll around a similar time.
Did you notice 2 tents as you passed by Red Tarn ?
