I decided to to this walk all be it a short one a while back but had not got around to doing it until now.

I parked my car in a small pull-in that holds no more than 6 cars, about 3 miles north of Glantawe grid ref SN846218

There is a small river to cross near the start of the walk. The path is fairly easy to follow but does disappear now and again, but that said all you have to do is head towards the dip in the ridge between Fan Hir and Fan Brycheiniog marked on the map as Bwlch Giedd.

On reaching the lake Llys y Fan Fawr you pickup the Beacons way and the path that takes you up the ridge.

I chose to continue up to Fan Hir.
Sorry no pic`s from the summit of Fan Hir it was blowing a bit and could not steady my camera.
