Great effort Susie  well worth it too by the look of those photos, such vivid greens and all that wonderful sunshine :D
Even though we were shaded by the trees, my hands kept slipping on the handles of the sticks

I was on crutches for a year and had this problem, I put neoprene on the handles which provided some lovely cushioning, remained non slippery in the wet and could be rolled off and washed as often as needed, maybe give that a go....though there's probably some modern equivalent available now I guess.

Thanks, Chris :D
I'll look into something for the handles of my sticks; I usually wear my old cycling gloves but it was too hot for that!!

Enjoyed the pics and report. It's nice to see High Force from the usual side - a lovely place. In the past I would only walk in Scotland and The Lake District, but we've "discovered" our home counties of Northumberland and Durham, as well as North Yorkshire. I was particularly struck by how beautiful and diverse upper Teesdale is.

Hi Susie - Lovely report and pictures as always. We went there many years ago when we'd been camping just above Hardraw Force and woke up surrounded by a pond... When we got to High Force there was loads of water everywhere - mainly falling out of the sky - but no sunshine - you've caught the light beautifully.

Very best wishes,

Daniel and Clare.
