Park in free car park at Elterwater follow rd to coniston and turn up cycleway to Coniston follow allong to Little Langdale bridle way up this to track that leads to slate quarries allong track to first slate quarry. Scramble up to the ridge through quarries cross wall at gate on bridleway (better route if you do not like slate quarries. Follow tracks up through other quarries till arrive at wall allong top of fell. Follow wall to sumit of Fell Brown How.continue allong wall till reach large crag in front of Side Pike folow ledge trough the narrow gap and round up to summit. Descend down to road but then follow wall down to wood follow edge of wood and then track down Langdale back to Elterwater. Weather mainly sunny with one snow shower cold wind on top. Ascent 1700ft.
