My first visit to the Lake District. Quite an introduction! Out with the Sunderland College of Education Mountaineering Club (SCMC). A long day, and quite hot. Personally, I found Broad Stand quite intimidating but got down it OK, however the rope had to come out for some of the group who were well out of their comfort zone. After that, big walk, big mountains, very big day. :D :D :D :D

Activity : Walking Area : Southern Fells (Scafell Pike) Mountains : Scafell, Scafell Pike via Broad Stand, Great Gable Duration :5-7 hours Weather : Clear - sunny - good visibility Wind : No wind Style : Group Member Type : Mountain Walking
