This walk has everything you would want in a walk in the Brecon Beacons. It starts with a steep climb that starts at the car park at Blaen y Glyn grid ref So056175

As you start to climb up towards Craig Fan Ddu you will see a couple of waterfalls.

Once you reach Craig Fan Ddu you can pretty much see your entire route

As you continue on along Graig fan Las if you look across the valley you will see a memorial cairn. Just before you reach Bwlch y Ddwyllt you will see a path that will take you to the cairn as you approach the cairn you will see some wreckage which is the remains of a Wellington Bomber R1645. The aircraft came down in bad weather on July 6th 1942 killing all of the Canadian crew. the names of the crew are engraved on a plague set into the cairn.

Now it`s a short steep climb up to the ridge and short walk to another cairn.

The views from here are fantastic. The cairn also marks the point where you descend down into the valley.

It is a steep walk down from the ridge.

As you continue on you have a great view of Craig Fan Ddu.

On reaching the forest you follow the river Blaen y Glyn. As you follow the river you will see a number of waterfalls. On reaching a foot bridge cross over it as you do look up stream and you will see a lovely little waterfall.

Looking slightly to your left you will see a kissing gate that marks the track back up to the car park at Blaen y Glyn, but unfortunately the path is blocked by trees blown down in recent storms, we did try the path despite the warning sign but the path was well and truly blocked so we continued on down to the lower car park and walk back up the road to our start point. This was a great walk I will do again.

Thanks Susie, the views were great. I wish I had taken more photos there were a lot more waterfalls to see as we followed the river down the valley.
