I just spent a great weekend walking in Snowdonia for the first time.

On Saturday I climbed Y Garn and Elidir Fawr from Idwal Cottage on the A5, which is a 7 mile hike with an ascent of 3,608ft. There's some mild scrambling involved on both mountains and the initial ascent up to the ridge below Y Garn is very steep but this was a great introduction to Welsh mountains.

On Sunday I walked The Snowdon Roller Coaster from Llanberis which takes in Moel Eilio, a couple of smaller peaks and Moel Cynghorion before ascending to Snowdon on the Ranger Path. The total ascent was 5,607ft in 14 miles.

There isn't a single part of my body that doesn't hurt.
