An attempt on Cnicht from the west, thwarted by the rain and gales; still a good (if very wet) walk up to the high pass and lake of Bwlch y Battel.








Then a compensatory climb of a 'miniature' (263m) mountain in Moel y Gest. Very good walk up to and along the rocky and undulating summit ridge.
