A lovely morning on my most local Hewitts.

All ways up Ingleborough are great but this one has to be the best of all - although the outline of the mountain from this side doesn't match the outstanding profile shown to Ingleton.

Took the chance to visit Simons Fell but had to go back over Ingleborough to get back to the main path to visit Gaping Gill again.

A mixture of blue skies and swirly low cloud made for fascinating walking conditions. Very mild for the time of year.

Approaching the top of Ingleborough - which I had totally to myself being very early in the morning.

Cloud moving in.JPG
The day had been blue sky till now but there was cloud around and it began to catch up with me on top of Ingleborough

While never quite reaching Inversion levels the cloud was fascinating with swirly patches combined with blue skies and bright sun making lovely conditions to be up there.

Rather than head down I went back over the top of Ingleborough. Partly because I wanted to see if there was an inversion (not quite again) and partly to revisit Gaping Gill (last visited 2011).

Gaping Gill - again I had to this to myself although I was now passing large crowds heading for Ingleborough.
