An early start scraping the ice off the car for a trip to the Lakes but unfortunately I realised I had a flat tyre soon after setting off (luckily before getting on the Motorway ) and had to come back home and sort that out.

A trip to the Garage later and I was running out of time so a quick run to Barley to do Pendle Hill.

Ascending by the popular steep route before heading over Mearley Moor to the Nick of Pendle Road and then following the excellent route back up the hill via Ogden Clough. I then descended via the Ogden Reservoirs back to Barley.

Clear blue skies for most the walk and loads of snow on top. One brief snow shower during the second ascent but with light winds this was quite pleasant and a nice change of pace.

A rescued day to the say the least!
