Moel Siabod is a fine mountain with a great view on any day, one which I have climbed many, many times and camped on a few times over the years...but none of those countless times came anywhere near to my wildcamp on this fantastic February evening.
I had high hopes of a cloud inversion as I set off from home, all the signs were there...high pressure, little wind, cloud forecasted etc. I was not to be dissapointed. :D
Once I left reached the snow line I started to see glimpses on the sun above, I will let the pictures tell the story....

Oh and the stars that night!

It was a fantastic day, and probably the best high wildcamp I have ever done.

Not so much during the night though....my Neoair let me down, making me have to re-inflate it several times,
the wind picked up and cloud spilled over. I finally gave in to having hardly any sleep packed up at 5am and headed down in the cloud and darkness. :(

Wouldn't have missed it for the world though! :D

Nice pics of the inversion, I'm still waiting to see one myself. :?

The night sky looks lovely as well.

Hope you can repair the Neoair maybe the rocky surface punctured it?

The Neoair went down because I never tested it at home after repairing it with 3 patches overlapping each other on a tear from a previous trip!!! :(

Fabulous pics.   I chose the Thursday to do Tryfan, the Glyders and Y Garn, because MWIS wasn't very auspicious for Friday; but you seem to have had really wonderful weather (as I did on Thursday actually).

I just got a new 4 season RAB bag, but I don't think I'll be trying it out just yet.....

Awesome pics, looks a great trip.

your mat reminds me of a mountain equipment mat that had a faulty valve that I lugged around the cairngorms on a 4 day trip, eventually gave up blowing it up every two hours.

WOW mountainstar that looks fantastic, certainly worth the lack of sleep for one night. Beautiful sunsets and the inversion is perfect.......and those stars, fantastic.

I always feel we get ripped off with the night skies at home, there is so much light pollution we really miss out :(
