We, me & Tommy, were on a road trip to pick up Tam & Jim who had just completed The Dales Way and it seemed too good an opportunity not to bag at least one Wainwright on route. After asking around on Twitter I decided on the quick route up Red Screes from the Kirkstone Pass.
There`s a large carpark across from The Inn which sits right at the top of the pass at 1500ft.

The path up is excellent, short steps all the way, with a couple of wee scrambles. The views are magnificent and this trip has wet my appetite for further forays south.

From the summit views it would appear you picked a little cracker there Tomyboy, that is a great reward for so little distance & ascent, definitely worth the stop off on your journey

Good pics! And welcome to the Wainwrights.

I'd never really considered that easy route up to Red Screes. I remember going up it after Little Hart Crag and finding a rather gross-looking, bird-pecked dead sheep on the summit in 2011.
