I think I may have taken a wrong turning somewhere on the way from Llanberis to Moel Eilio, as I had to cross some rough ground and climb up a steep hillside before I found the good path. Apart from this it was a straightforward walk along a grassy ridge, with great views of Snowdon, Glyderau, Moel Hebog, Nantlle Ridge, Mynydd Mawr etc.

This is a good route. I did these last December and tagged Snowdon on as well (foolishly - was knackered afterwards).

At the start it looks like you peeled off too early. Better to continue on the path to the quarry near the 372 spot height then head south.
