Scafell Pike, Broad Crag, Ill Crag and Great End
Posted: Sat Aug 08, 2015 9:41 pmAscended from Borrowdale by way of Sty Head and the Corridor Route and then up to Scafell Pike summit by way of Broad Crag col with three relatively inexperienced walkers. Returned by way of Esk Hause and Grains Ghyll to Stockley Bridge.
I’ve been up by several routes (but by no means all) and this is easily my favourite for introducing people to the mountain, although if the visibility had been good I’d probably have walked on a little further to Lingmell Col and also taken in the summit of Lingmell on the way up.
Initially wet with poor visibility, clearing later on the tops. Good finish to the day.
Could have been done rather quicker but we were in no hurry.
