A wintery Tarn Hows.

Leg 21 of my Wainwrights in Winter campaign. It was a 'questionable' forecast for today (so far this winter, that is about as good as it gets!), but I needed to get out there because I was building a backlog with my setbacks on the Coniston fells. I compromised by doing this low level route, so if the weather got bad I should still be able to finish it okay. It was grey but calm and fine at first. Tarn Hows was a beautiful winter vision, with a school party or two enjoying a trip there. I met only one other walker on Black Fell, but passed a few others around Langdale. The cloud closed in by the time I was on Lingmoor Fell, it being a truly spooky and lonely whiteout up there. The trail was easy enough to follow, though, with fences for added reassurance. By the time I was on Holme Fell, rain (or was it sleet?) had also closed in. I made an awful hash of the way down, despite it being supposedly a simple little fell. No harm done, though, and another leg accomplished!

Underestimated the descent of Holme Fell, and went wrong somehow,

Definitely not the correct descent route.

I flirted with Long Crag I reckon.
