Friday 6th Sept - 7am Blaen-y-nant - Gear on we leave our hut. Mike Michael and I head up the hillside while the other members make for Pen-y-pass carpark and the Snowdon horseshoe - Our route - slightly harder, follows the burn to the small lochan of Llyn Glas in the corrie of Cwm Uchal and the foot of the Clogwyn Y Peron arete - a grade three scramble. But to get there - first a 75mt VD climb known as The Parson`s Nose - we have no rope - this is scrambling at the top end as Mike starts up the first section and we follow gaining height and the top to where a narrow gap clefts the ridge. An 8mt down climb into the gap ends the rockroute and we are on the scramble - the way goes straight up but we,on alternate leads are trending right onto harder ground and I`m pleased that we cope with all the problems areas - until suddenly we are at the top and to our left we can see people coming off Crib Goch to where it joins our ridge and meet the KMC team who had come up that way - The route now over Crib y Ddysgi meets the rock paved setion that leads to Yr Wyddfa - Snowdon. The mist comes and goes - the views are simply superb - The Crib Goch team head off to complete their route while we are lured into the cafe found when the mist cleared for coffee and cake (Just to say we`d been there) Refreshed we retace our route to the base of Crib Goch up and down the pillars of rock to the knife edged ridge enjoying the first patters of rain - becoming heavier by the end of the scramble. A swift descent to the carpark seemed the best option where Stuartdrove us back doen to the hut - The weather til then was good - the climbing enjoyable - well done to both Mikes - and roll on the next one
