Almost Coledale Round

Up nice and early and arrived in Braithwaite at 7am. Started by walking through the village and up the path leading to Stile End. Followed the path up Stile End and onto Outerside. Occasionally turning and enjoying the views behind.

From here we descended Outerside and then began the climb up to Causey Pike, which again gave us outstanding views of the surrounding mountains!

We wandered along Scar Crags and then climbed up to the top of Sail.

From Sail we walked along and up to Crag Hill (Eel Crag) before descending from here, and starting the climb up Grisedale Pike for the grand finale.

Having summitted Grisedale Pike we began the descent again, following the path back to the car.

Brilliant walk in brilliant weather. Will be back another day to pick up Barrow!

:D :D

One of my favourite rounds in the Lakes - but always with Hopegill Head as it's the finest summit on the round and the walk along the top of Hobcarton Crag the most dramatic section. I couldn't possibly miss that out!
Still, glad you enjoyed your day.
