We'd been for an amazing plane tour out of Nelson 8) the day before, so today we were trying to pick out some of the hill tops and ridges we'd seen. The pilot had pointed out different areas, but by now we couldn't be sure if this trail was going to take us to where Scoob had his heart set on :?
Bumpy drive up, a bit like the Kokanee Glacier road to Gibson Lake, so the hire car did remarkably well  Trail head started on a landrover track then soon peeled off on a trodden track through the woods and up to Ross Lake... which was surrounded by trees so we couldn't pick out a do-able line to get around and up any further, given we were in shorts without gaiters  So we just headed back the same way, feeling very remote and calling out for bears periodically, yet so disappointed to come across so much litter :( empty cans, packets, cartons, etc  Scoob picked them all up and carried them out to dispose of properly  ...and had a wee rant about it on a local forum afterwards
