Whilst visiting Thailand I managed to find time to catch a boat from Pattaya over to Ko Lan to do a bit of exploring. It is a busy little island given is close proximity to Pattaya.
That said, I still found the interior not so busy on the climb up to the highest point.
The views were superb but walking up hill in that heat is tougher than expected.

The ferry crossing from Pattaya with Ko Lan only a short distance.

Gaining height and better views.

Small world Paulo, my mate lives in Singapore and went to Thailand (Pattaya ) with his wife on business and took an extended break while there, he actually walked those steps at Ko Lan and said the very same thing you did about the heat

Yes ChrisW walking in these countries is not the same as in the UK or Canada, the heat really does slow you down and make you feel tired. Even short treks.
