First Night Out of 2017I've decided that this year I will try to increase the amount of nights out in the wild. I'm hoping for at least once per month, but we will see what life brings.
To start off I decided to visit the lovely Warnscale Bothy, and have a wander over Haystacks the next day. I parked on the road leading up to Honnister Slate Mine, and took the well defined path along the valley, and up between Fleetwith Pike and Haystacks; heading off to the bothy near the summit.
Spent a warm night in here, the MBA have recently updated the stove and the roof of the bothy and it was a delightful night!
The next morning I set off early, walking back up towards Dubs Hut, and then over the top of Haystacks. It was a stunning clear day giving outstanding views.
I walked down from Haystacks to the lake shore, and then back along the road to the car. An outstanding first night out of 2017, and not cold at all!
