At relative short notice, decided to walk this route with my nephew Andrew. We parked my car at Armboth car park on the shores of Thirlmere and got a lift with Chris and Wendy to our starting point just outside Keswick on the A591.

Lovely clear day with little wind gave ideal walking conditions.

Picked this route as the weather had been so dry over the last couple of months and it has been written many times that the going is very wet. However, we hadn't factored-in the heavy thundery rain that had fallen the previous day and made for one or two 'wet patches!'.

Nevertheless, a very enjoyable walk.
