Mosedale Cottage - Selside Pike and BranstreeSet off quite late in the evening from the carpark at the southern end of Haweswater Resevoir. We walked up the path leading to Gatescarth Pass before turning left at the bottom of the valley toward Mosedale Cottage.
Mosedale Cottage was empty when we arrived so we claimed the bigger of the rooms and set the fire going, nicely warming us through. We were soon joined by another party who had wandered in from the other direction. We shared the fire; wine and craic before heading to bed.
The next morning we were up early. Heading along the valley before taking a sharp incline up to Selside Pike.
We then wandered across the tops to Branstree, before descending and picking up the path back to Haweswater Reservoir.
