After a super day in the lesser known Helvellyn Range, it was time to get amongst my favourites again.

Simple walk, get up from Seatoller to Esk Hause and then walk back over Allen Crags and Glaramara. Despite some nervy icy climbs, it was a an absolute belter of a day. I'll let the photos do the talking!

*EDIT - PHOTOS ARE IN REVERSE ORDER - SORRY!*

Nice walk and nice pics (though in reverse order from your description of the route). The rock step coming down from summit of Glaramara is indeed tricky when icy. Was your original intention to go up Scafell Pike by any chance? (Would explain going as far as Esk Hause proper rather than just the x-walls shelter). :)

Well spotted about the photos in reverse order - you are spot on!

I wasn't going to go up to Scafell Pike - the walk up to Esk Hause proper was entirely accidental  But it did give me a great view of the incredible crowd on Great Gable for the remembrance service.
