So went down to the Lakes for the weekend on the promise of significantly better weather than in Scotland. We weren't disappointed! Didn't leave until lazy time on Saturday morning, so didn't get camped up and settled until the afternoon, by which time, there was just time for a short walk really - so headed up the nearby Lingmoor Fell - Lots of undulations for this one, and a bit under side pike that involves a narrow ledge with a squeeze behind a giant flake :D
Dark for the descent, so just followed the road to save us breaking any more ankles

On the Sunday we went for Harrison Stickle which we had been saving for just such an occasion. It ws a bonny day and it was decent scrambling -lucked out 8)

First Pike Howe - Just as a bit of fun to get us up a bit higher without a slog :)

Harrison Stickle still looked a slog away...

We decided to take the route up the SW face - it looked the easiest to get to and longest of the routes described in our book.. First wall looked intimidating but was easy really :) After that it was a fun, easy romp right to the summit.

We could of gone on to do a couple more tops but the clag was rolling in, and the path between us and them looked boggy beyond belief, so didn't bother, just took the path down to Stickle tarn and straight down.

On the Monday, we didn't want to be late home so we just did a short tromp to the Rydal caves - Well worth visiting if you are in the area - one had a big lake with stepping stones across - such fun. Shame I seem to of forgotten to take any photos.. Good weekend anyway - Brilliant :)
