easter one night wild camp

weather forecast was good for sunday but not so good for monday but thought i would go for it to try out new tent

day one route

came down a valley and camped here was quite near black sail yh
ground was stony hence crap pegging out but was tired and wind was picking up

went sleep about 8pm got some on and off then woke about 530am to this

still windy so had to take down tent and god it was freezing
now i had to go over haystacks to get back to the car, was going to fleetwith but aborted that one

finally made it to dubs hut 5 people were just leaving luckily fire was still aglow so i had a warm

was only about 1 mile back to car but took a hour conditions were so bad, one side of honister pass was blocked but luckily one side to seatoller had been gritted

Nice one :) . I wasn't a million miles away from you on Sunday night - just north of Sprinkling Tarn. Camping lower down would probably have been sensible. As you say, Monday morning was horrible!
