Wendy and I undertook this walk (taken from Cicerone's 'Great Mountain Days in Snowdonia') on one of the hotter days of May. The ascent of Moel Hebog itself involves a couple of mild scrambles, but nothing too strenuous and the views from the summit are, to be honest, breathtaking (though a cloudless sky helps!!)

If the walk is continued over Moel yr Ogof and Moel Lefn, here are some points to note:
- the guidebook's estimated time of 4-5 hours is quite optimistic and achievable only if you push things :(
- the descent from Moel Lefn is not easy underfoot and very different from the descents from Moel Hebog and Moel yr Ogof
- the first section of forest encountered during the Moel Lefn descent has been felled and although the path is still marked, it is quite difficult underfoot (and the promised shade no longer available on hot days!!)
- the path on the section between forests is indistinct and easily lost - if you end up on a narrow path next to a wall, the actual path is probably thirty yards to your right!!
- as you reach the camp site and the Welsh Highland Railway, I'd suggest following the Rhyd Dhu-Beddgelert path rather than progressing to the A4085.
In spite of the points above, this is a fantastic walk
