Making up for a washout Saturday with a big Northumberland walking day; short walks dodging the forecasts.
A nice stretch of coast north of Craster and a grand English Heritage ruin.
Ros Castle, a steep little moorland hill (via a misplaced forest attempt).
Simonside, a fine and busy escarpment walk (would be stunning in heather season) on a good path. The extension to the highpoint on Tosson Hill is empty and long, but great views to the Cheviots as the sun came out.
And a twilight there-and-back dart on forest tracks to Long Crag. Easy enough but not all that exciting.
