A tough but rewarding walk on Sendero 9 from Mirador de las Narices (1050m). The well formed path turned into a loose volcanic scree above 2300m which sapped energy levels and, along with the depleted oxygen, meant managing the ascent. All good practice. The crater view at the top (3130m) was astonishing, as was the view to the west side of Mt Teide. Bootfuls of black volcanic grit on the descent!
