Berwyns: Moel Fferna by the North Berwyn Way

A pleasant enough short walk for a wet March morning with the dogs. I was fortunate enough to be dropped off, and picked up, as there isn't really parking at my start/finish point, although it is easily accessible with a 4x4. The main advantage is being able to avoid road walking and traffic at both ends of the walk, although it also clearly reduces the height and distance covered.
The terrain is, in the main, easy and the gradients gentle. It is remote, we saw nobody else from start to finish, and most of the walk moorland with some very pleasant forest walking. The terrain was also very suitable for the dogs, especially as there were no sheep on the hills yet.
The route of the Berwyn Way was adequately signed without the waymarks being all over the place, just where they needed to be (helpful/reassuring without being intrusive)
Pretty damp, misty conditions!
Length: 7.5 miles 12 km Ascent: +384m Naismith: 2h 45m
A pleasant half day's outing in a much under-walked area.
