I recently went to Le Puy en Velay, for the second time. The first time I had walked south on the Stevenson Way.

The second time I walked on the French Camino route from Le Puy to Figeac, the GR64 route. Le Puy is very attractive and so so is Figeac, both mediveal. When I got to Figeac, most hikers were going onto St Jean Pied du Port in the Pyrenees and then walking the Spanish Camino. I turned north at this point and walked into the Dordogne, on the GR6 route, first to Rocamadour, then to Sarlat, finally finishing three weeks later at Bordeaux.

I loved it, the weather was great, the people were so welcoming, the scenery was fantastic and the food and wine were superb!
