For those who love snow covered mountains I really recommend the Tour du Mont Blanc, I'm sure its the most international route and most enjoyed route in Europe.

The best place to start is Les Houche, near Chamonix and walk the circular 100 plus kilometre route in an anti clockwise direction. The whole route is visually first class and the opportunites to stop to eat and drink, camp , B & B, hotels, etc are endless! I camped but did stay in a Refuge one night. That was really fun, the meal starts at 7pm for everyone, after a few beers and/or wine the party then really gets going!

The route goes into Italy via Cormayeur and into Switzerland via Champex and then back to Les Houche. I flew into Geneva from Gatwick, then caught a bus, no problems at all.

It was so good I went back a second time, walked clockwise for a while then verred off at Champex on The Haute Route to Zermatt. Another fantastic route and also a bit harder!
