To start my few days in the lakes I wanted a decent summit but a relatively straightforward walk.
I arrived in Keswick about 2pm so enoought time for a jaunt up Skiddaw before evening and the few miles drive to my hostel.

It was a lovely clear bright day and I had already enjoyed great views on entering the Lakes on my drive, so I was looking forward to getting amongst the hills themselves.

I parked up at Latrigg (Underskiddaw) car park to give myself a bit of a head start on the height.
The walk is very straightforward, following a substantial path which climbs pretty steeply in zig zags up the hill.

On the way up I skirted the sides of the Little Man and then emerged to summit.
It was bright and breezy so I enjoyed the views then hunkered down in a shelter cairn to have my packed lunch.

On the descent I went over the neighbouring summit of Skiddaw Little Man and tested my knees on the steep descent back to the car.
All in all a lovely easy climb, well worth the effort for the stunning views. Also bagged England's 5th Highest Peak
