The Movie incl. Sharp Edge:

It was a great week ! :D My 21 years old son Patrik visited us from Czech Republic and because even my 6 years old daughter Cheyenne had a school holiday I sorted my days off as well 8)
The first three days we enjoyed camping with Caravan in Kendal - Lake District, where we climbed Blencathra - the fine mountain near Keswick and it was great time there as even the 6 years old Cheyenne conquered the mountain by the famous and challenging Sharp Edge - descending way keeping her face still smiling
We came back home on friday, then me and Patrik prepared for a longer day adventure in the North of Scotland - Munros from Glen Affric, where we enjoyed blue sky again, sun, strong wind, rock and snow...26 km in the mountains, started from home just after midnight as it is 4 hours driving one way and needed to be back home the same evening because of his travelling back home on sunday.
Report from the Glen Affric adventure here:

Blencathra was on my To-Do list for Lake District as I'm mostly climbing the scottish mountains, but at least once a year trying to do some hills in Lake District or Snowdonia. We almost climbed Blencathra last year when camping in Windermere, but ended up with something else...
So finally, the time came and we headed to Scales near Keswick to enjoy the wonderful mountain. Parked at the White Horse Inn car park we started the Adventure. It was my 6 years daughter Cheyenne, 21 years old Patrik and me...the old man  We all wanted to experience the famous Sharp Edge, but after reading some reports and watching some videos on YouTube, I was not sure if it will be safe and doable for Cheyenne ( despite her desperate wish to do it ), maybe she would be too short for some tricky parts when scrambling needed... :? So the plan was to split on the way: Patrik to get the summit via Sharp Edge, meet up on the summit and then me descending by the Sharp Edge and Patrik with Cheyenne via the easier path or all of us together by the challenging way on SE if Patrik will evaluate that it's ok even for Cheyenne ( despite her age she is not a beginner in scrambling and she loves the more challenging routes )
As decided we did, met on the summit and then headed all of us to descend via Sharp Edge :D Cheyenne was happy and really excited ! :D
All documented in the Video-Movie and also by some photos. It was a great day with a good weather, glad for the visibility and we enjoyed every moment there. Also the split on the way up had some positive points...we were able to see and recorded Patrik on the Sharp Edge from the distance - another angle of the view :D  8)
The mountains in Lake District are beautiful, looking forward to do more of them again next time ! :D

Great stuff, Petr. Blencathra is on of the best hills in England. And well done to all of you, especially Cheyenne, for descending Sharp Edge. I've climbed it a few times but only descended it once, definitely the trickier direction! Can Cheyenne speak Czech?

A heartwarming report, Petr. Nice vid too. That's quite a challenge for a 6-year-old, but Cheyenne seemed to take it in her stride! Hopefully she'll be eager for other spicy adventures... :D

Very good and wonderful for your child, you captured the essence of Sharp Edge very well. I didn't climb my first mountain until I was 18.

Great report and a brilliant achievement!

I remember I found Sharp Edge a bit intimidating in descent. Just goes to show that the adult brain worries about everything - but children just enjoy it. Well done Cheyenne!
