With a view to possibly attempting Centurion on the Ben sometime this summer, Karl & me felt we needed to start climbing some HVS's. We chose the Superdirect on Black Crag for our first one on Saturday 11th May. The forecast was ambiguous between full sun all day on the BBC app, and sunny intervals with possible showers on the TV. It turned out to be rather blustery and chilly, and while on pitch 2 it started spitting with rain. I was beginning to make plans for a bail-out, but fortunately the rain stopped and the sun came out, so we carried on. The weather steadily improved thereafter.
